THE RIGHT PERSUASION

Persuasion is the process of guiding on self or another toward the adoption of an attitude or idea, or toward an action, by rational or appealing means. Persuasion is a purposeful attempt to influence a person's beliefs, attitudes,intentions, motivations or behaviors.

My persuasion before was to be better for myself, live a good life. It was a me, myself and I mentality. Due to being exposed to a live of survival of the fittest, what drives is the fact that I want people to see that I made despite the struggles, but all that changed for the better.

My persuasion changed some years back, approximately four years ago when I listened to a message titled a purpose driven life. My thinking changed immediately, I learnt that I do not live only for myself, I have destinies tied to me. People looking up to me to show them the right path.

I asked myself what is my persuasion, what is my drive? The why of what I do? The answer I got was me, me and me. I don't care if the world is a better place so long I'm good or I live well, I don't care if I have a safe community, environment or if the world is a safe place for the less privileged, all I care at that time was me.

But the right persuasion changed everything, I redefined my persuasion and add it purpose.

Everybody needs the right persuasion, define your persuasion and it will help you stay on track, if possible write it down where you'll be seeing it, this helps you not to stray from the original intent and derive of what you're doing.

When your persuasion is right, your influence becomes right. Like the word "Aura- an energy that is held to emanate from living being". The energy that should emanate from your inside out should be positive, it should rightly influence those around you.

In that your field, as a teacher, an artist, a writer, a humanitarian, an advocate or activist etc. your persuasion should be making the world a better place. You can start from the little people God has placed around you, influence them persuade them into believing the world is a better place. There's a reason you're where you find yourself, teach the people around you empathy, teach them to love, teach them the right thing. By doing that, you're sowing a seed that will definitely germinate.

You know change begins with you, make your persuasion a right one today, live purposefully. With the right persuasion, we can make the world a better place.
