The Road Less Travelled- The Risk of Not Taking Risks

"And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more." - Erica Jong, Writer.

My husband found this book a couple of days back at the back of our library. It belonged to my Mother- In-law, she has a knack for reading self help and business books. As I was reading all these amazing quotes, I stumbled upon this one and it struck a chord instantly.

It took me back to all the times I stood at a diversion and had to road in front of me. One, the less traveled and involved a risk. And the other, just playing it safe in my comfort zone. Now that I look back, every time I gathered the courage to take the road less traveled, I was met with a little fear, anxiety but the end result was extremely rewarding. It's from those decisions that involved risk, I had my great learnings.

Our brain perceives uncertainty as a threat, triggering stress responses like anxiety and fear even when there is no physical damage present. That's why we often choose our comfort zones over risks. We are so focused on the dangers and possible losses associated with taking the risk that we fail to comprehend the immense rewards & opportunities that come with just taking that risk.

So if you're standing at those diverging roads today, and have to choose between 'The Road Less Travelled' which is risky or the other road, 'The Easy Way Out'. Take the time to just think about what all will you be possibly risking by not taking this risk.
