THE WORLD IN GRIEF: In the cloud of COVID-19-Let us all help!

When COVID-19 started in 2019 in Wuhan, China, the magnitude of the pains and horror were within Wuhan. it soon became a bigger problem in the whole of china leading to panic, anger, frustration and hopelessness among the people. when people started dying in and dropping on the streets, the pain was too much to bear for the people who saw lifeless bodies on the streets. this send red signals and panic and fear engulfed the whole of Asia. many were infected and many died in hospitals homes and streets. 

It later became a pandemic. After a few months with freedom to travel, the world began getting reports of infections. Italy, Spain, US, UK,Astralia, Netherlands and later Africa. The agony the people go through is so severe, and am not sure I can describe in simple words. infections, deaths, fear of re-infections and hopelessness characterized the experiences in the world. some governments resorted to partial or total lock down. These measures had a lot of implications to humanity. the questions people had was how to survive in the abnormal world. people rushed to buy what they could to stock up for unknow period. but for those who did not have money, or depended to work so they could get what to eat, it communicated stress, depression, starvation and finally death or  suicide. Hospitality industries shut down, air travels reduced and eventually halted, governments went into cushion themselves against covid-19. and to say the least...it challenged church compassionate ministries due to social distancing. people have been mourning losses of businesses in trillions now. families are breaking up because of stay at home, when going out meant food or peace. brutality , anger, and frustration of individuals , communities and governments  throughout the world  all points to one word-grief. people have lost what brought  meaning in the contemporary world, and below are some of the questions with strong emotions;

how can the world grieve in solitude?

how can compassionate ministry be relevant?

how can I come to terms with losing a Job  as a bread winner?

how can I recover fro losing my whole family to covid 19?

how can I come to terms with the lose of a nation....more than 16, 000people to covid 19?

how can we loose first responders and life remains the same?

how can nurses and doctors be there for us and as we die, they also die?

how can tell our children we are protecting them when we are infected ourselves?

how can we say we love our spouses when we are divorcing them because of stay home policy?

how can we say we keep learners safe when feeding programs kept them safe in schools and is no more?

how can bedside visitation ever be meaningful to those in hospitals?

how can those nurses and doctors and first responders benefit from chaplaincy support ?

how can final rites be conducted according to religious or cultural dictates?

how can we claim to be world power when the virus is crushing us with all that we are?

how can we say we are human when we chase blacks out of apartments, hotels to the infected cold streets ? 

how oh Lord, can I confess when my priest is not able to come?

how can I say my last words to my family I leave behind when I cannot talk?

How can I go alone to my grave dear friends, families,community and countrymen? oh humanity????

Fear makes my people leave me on the streets, who will give me a decent  send off ? will the vultures?

how can people have closure with loved ones infected with covid-19

we can all pray together as women and families. we can all think about one another as sisters. we can all share messages of encouragement through media through world pulse community. we can check on neighbors next door and give our sisterhood shoulders. we can reach virtually to those in need, and send material support. we can do counselling support on phone, and help others to have hope as caring sisters. we can support humanity in times as this, so different, so challenging, so terrifying, yet so real to us. Let us all help sisters.

LORD IN YOU MERCY HEAR OUR CRY.
