Why must these kinds of people think that only men are “forced to prove their manhood” while us women apparently don’t have to? That’s fucking bullshit! It ignores the struggles that women have to endure in our everyday lives.

White male evangelicals will tell us to act like ladies, shifting unnecessary responsibilities upon us while making the excuse that men can’t control themselves. Then they’ll dismiss our complaints claiming that it’s apparently much harder to be a man due to how “society enforces expectations of manliness onto men”. Or in other words SEE-MOM.

Meanwhile if a woman has any objections to how women are supposed to behave, she will be told that women have it easier because apparently “society doesn’t expect femininity” and then get brushed off. Talk about fucking double standards!

If society doesn’t “expect women to be feminine”, then why are there so many articles and other forms of media telling us how to “act like a lady”? And why is it when we talk about the double standards of such, we get told it’s simply our fault and that we’re not “trying hard enough”? You certainly won’t hear that if you’re a man.

It gets even worse for trans women, as many still struggle with gender identity, and getting told “you’ll never be a real man/woman” is a huge factor regarding their trauma and self-loathing.

So why is it only valid when a man has struggles proving his manhood while a woman is dismissed for protesting against having to prove her womanhood?
