When you have to go though everyday life with permanent shaking of the land under your feet is when one realizes the vulnerability of our time in this Earth that give and take back according to its own dynamics, not ours. But is also reminds one how it is that we stay alive in times of perils.
These past two weekin Puerto Rico have been, as the author Charles Dickens in "Tale of Two Cities" one said: ¨they were the best of times and the worst of times. the worse are the shakes, the best the resiliency of its people bases in solidarity.
I have seen women open their kitchen to all the neighbors who lost there houses, not asking for anything back because she knows they list everything. ¨They can get some hope back" she said. Every time they come for food they know they can survive
I have known organic farmers in the central mountain range where nothing happened to their crops, pick them up and take them to the south where everything was lost.
I have seen tents rise up in the back yards of peoples houses so that they do not feel that they have to sleep in public parks.
I have seen the devastating effect of destruction of houses and seen the lifting up if the human spirit by people simply being solidarious.
