Before I get started, I want to make a few clarifications:
First of all, I am fully aware that white fragility is definitely real and dangerous to people of color. Second, I am addressing on the INCORRECT uses of the term “white tears”, etc. And finally, I am focusing on the othering of women regarding the justifications of misogyny, so don’t assume I’m just a typical “basic white girl” getting triggered over the word “white” in front of women.
Anyway, on to the post.
How do I say it? I truly don’t understand why when talking about racism, they always have to pull in women for every fucking situation. Like I get it, there are plenty of racist white women, but why is it ALWAYS white women?! It’s always a fucking middle aged white woman! Do you really hate women that much?
How many times do I have to deal with this shit because I openly express my emotions all while having a vagina? And just to clarify, the people who tell me this are men. WHITE men. Funny how they want to talk about racism all while weaponizing women’s emotions against AND using race to justify their misogyny.
”You’re just a privileged white girl who has everything so easy. What have you to complain about?”
says the white MAN who thinks he knows more about racism than he ACTUALLY does. Using this shit to undermine the experiences of women AS A WHOLE just proves you have ZERO EMPATHY. Using the word white privilege does not erase the everyday experiences women have.
“White women like to refer to women of color as whatever they like, yet will get triggered when someone calls them for what they are, white. What ELSE are we supposed to call them?”
No, dingus. It’s not the ‘white’ part of term that “triggers” white women. It’s the OTHER W word! Using the “not like other girls” logic by using race, sexuality, religion, etc. is ostracism to womanhood as a whole.
And lastly, the lack of context to the point where these terms are incorrectly used can lead to exploitation and hatred. I’m specifically talking about a bunch of redpill white dudes who think they know everything and will use whiteness to justify their hatred of women all while pretending they’re for the BLM movement.
Dude, no, you don’t give a single shit about racism. You don’t give a shit about George Floyd or Martin Luther King, Jr.! All you guys ever care about is throwing women under the bus! This is the main reason why I am skeptical of the NotYourSheild community, because that too also gets exploited to justify white men’s hatred of women.
White privilege is definitely real. But that doesn’t matter you get to use it to undermine women’s experiences and struggles just because they have a white privilege. My point is, when we talk about racism, why can’t we discuss who’s truly responsible: the patriarchy?
