Until Love paints herself on the walls

story
A SoulSundae ramble is a time for sweet reflection on my perception, on a soulful Sunday. With this ramble, I aim to inspire and invite you to curve inward with me, and explore a sweeter side to seeing things. In sharing a heartfelt ramble, it is my hope that we can connect deeper as we raise our voices and share our stories, in solidarity.
Ramble
Open your heart to Love, and you may be surprised to find a cloaked visitor named Fear.
Fear is a hungry guest.
Feed her, and her appetite grows ever ravenous.
Starve her, and her cloak drops, taking up too much space.
Witness her existence at Love’s arrival, stroke her with tenderness and sing softly to her.
In Fear’s slumber, Love enters in hypnotic sways.
Disturb this slumber, and in her waking hunger, Fear will devour Love.
Keep the rooms of your heart peaceful, until Love paints herself on the walls.
Reflection
If fear is the antithesis or nemesis of love, I wonder what would happen if we all loved more.
Would courageous love take the place of cowardice, spite and malice? Would abusers come to see their victims (including themselves) as people in need of love? Would loving kindness replace gluttonous pursuits?
I cannot control the actions of another or manipulate an outcome so it better supports humanity.
But I can control my own actions.
I can keep the rooms of my heart peaceful until Love paints herself on the walls.
