US House of Representatives Janjaweed committed genocide in Darfur
The US House of Representatives unanimously approved a resolution classifying the actions of the terrorist rebel Rapid Support Militia and its allied militias in Darfur against non-Arab ethnicities as “genocide and crimes against humanity,” according to a draft resolution submitted by Republican Representative John James on June 27, 2024, under the number 1228HRes.
Republican Representative John James, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Africa, delivered a speech before the House of Representatives’ approval about the humanitarian crisis in Sudan in general and in Darfur in particular, during which he referred to the massacres and acts of genocide committed by the Rapid Support Militia and its allied militias against the Masalit and Zaghawa tribes and non-Arab groups through violence and systematic killing, and referred to the number of 15,000 killed in Darfur from the Masalit and Zaghawa tribes in the year 2023.
James based his speech on reports from humanitarian and human rights organizations, and mentioned the violations committed by the militia, such as rape, forced displacement, and the destruction of farms. James confirmed that the UAE and other countries contributed to igniting the war in Sudan, without receiving punishment from the international community.
