In the DRC the elderly are abandoned by society. Those who are young today are the old of tomorrow. A Parent’s duty is to nourish, educate, clothe and take care of their children. This last generation is obliged to help their parents during old age. This is reciprocity. There is nothing for nothing. The elderly who do not have children should be taken on by the state because they served their country while they were young. They have a right to an honorary/respectful retirement.

DEVELOPMENT

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, elderly people are abandoned by society. The youth of today will be the elderly of tomorrow. Parents have a duty to nourish, educate, clothe and feed their children. Children are also obliged to help their parents in their old age. It is a reciprocal relationship. There will be nothing for nothing.

Elderly people who do not have children should be in the keeping of the State because they have served their country during their youth. They have a right to a honorable retirement.
