VISION THE POWER OF LIFE

I could feel the wetness in my pants, it had happened again. My monthly flow had once again embarrassed me at a time when I hadn’t a dime to buy toilet tissue to pad myself. I did not go to school that day because I had been sent away for not paying my fees,
I was obliged to go to him, for money. Sadly enough when I asked for 300frsCFA (less than a dollar), he insulted me so terribly calling me a pest and a disgrace. I went back home and tore my only loin cloth to pieces and used as a sanitary towel. Washing the pieces of clothes and re-using them. A good number of women in Cameroon, use toilet tissue as pad due to poverty; Medical experts say this is detrimental to their health.

From that moment I began looking for means to sustain myself economically. I started selling mangoes and quavers harvested from my father’s orchard. With that I could support myself through school, with assistance from my father. Today, I earn my living as a school secretary while saving money to further my education.
I am determined to see women fend for themselves economically, ensuring their respect. I want to use journalism as a tool to change the mindset of women in my community. I got in contact with a journalist who introduced me to world pulse and the media center for women in Cameroon where I was encouraged to think of a personal vision.
Women are the backbone of every society. Any society with empowered women has the capacity for economic sustainability. My cry is to see women arise as mothers on the earth, and not paupers and victims of culture.
Biographical study is very important for the purpose of inspiration. Critically analyzing the biographies of influential ladies either through the media or in a face to face interaction will provoke passion in the hearts of women to contribute to societal advancement. The name of the first woman was Eve which means mother of the living. The Woman is a source of life and until she arises to give life; the world will not have life. Deborah said “The Inhabitants of the Villages Ceased, They Ceased in Israel, Until That I Deborah Arose, That I Arose a Mother in Israel”. Women need to arise as mothers, as life givers so that humanity will experience bliss. It is the pursuit of purpose that produces a respectful lifestyle. The greatest supervision in life is the supervision of vision. A woman of vision is a woman of respect. Pulse wire being a women empowerment community news wire, is a powerful forum for biographical study.

“The greatness of a man is determined by the course, he is willing to live or die for” (Bernard Etta)
