VOF: Post Application. Now What?

Dear Beloved Applicants,

It is hard to believe that we are at end of the first phase of our journey on the frontiers of new media. This application process has exceeded our wildest dreams. We bow in deep gratitude for the honesty, passion, humor, courage and wisdom we have witnessed over the past four weeks.

May 1: Correspondents announced via email
May 5: Correspondents announced on PulseWire
May 15: Correspondents and Mentors paired
May 22: Welcome packets mailed to Correspondents and Mentors
June 1: Voices of Our Future Program begins!

Q. How are you choosing the Correspondents?
A. Over the past four weeks, a panel of Listeners has been reading and evaluating your assignments. Each week two different Listeners were assigned to each Applicant. An overall score is being calculated for each Applicant. The top 50 Applicants will be forwarded to our Editorial Team, who will choose the final 28 Correspondents.

Q. How many Correspondents will be chosen?
Our Editorial Team will be selecting 28 Correspondents. Each Correspondent is being paired with a volunteer Mentor from the Empowerment Institute.

Q. Can I see my overall score?
Yes! We are still figuring out the most effective and empowering way to give each Applicant their score.

Q. How many women applied to be a Correspondent?
Approximately 120 women applied to be a Correspondent!

Q. What about the rest of us!?
We are busy behind the scenes planning Act II for Applicants who will not be participating in the program. We cannot imagine your journey stopping here. We will be asking for your input in the near future, so stay tuned! But don't hesitate to post suggestions here, too!)
