It is interesting that while none of the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) explicitly mention water and its impact on development, water plays a critical role in the achievement of all the 8 MDG goals. Recently an assessment was conducted to measure the degree to which the solution to water-related problems impacts positively on the achievement of the overall MDGs. It emerged that achieving one-third of the MDGs depends on solving issues related to water.
