What exactly is marriage for ?

Marriage is an institution where a man and a woman would promise to live with each other through sickness and health through ups and down through good and bads through odds and evens and through life and beyond. Though at the moment nothing at all is like that. especially considering the women of the sub-continent. As I am myself a part of that region I know the nitty gritty details you must have in yours but I don't know about them so I guess I will start from here, from my own region. Here the institution of marriage has different prospects for a man a woman. If you are a man, you can get married at any age as you like as, long as you have got good money or you are associated with someone who has that. For a woman, Unfortunately the perfect age is 21 , last is 24 and the deadline is 30. After that you should plan on doing something else other than marriage because over thirty totally unacceptable. Now Let's suppose that a girl who has the ideal age of 21 ( I am still being quite generous with the age) get's married to a man who is 30. Now what she has to do is not just say Yes, I Do. rather she must bring dowry because that will be used by her, for her happiness, it is as if you are submitting security fees at some apartment before renting it. After that you must be well behaved and respectful towards the groom and his family, Mind You they have fragile ego, if they got hurt then your whole house of cards will crumble within a matter of seconds. You must know how to cook, clean, behave and obey. Never forget these as they will be your web shooter to hold your fragile house( decorated with ego, anger and humiliation) stronger. Moving on, you must learn to silently endure whatever is being said to you and make sure you give birth to a kid in a year or so to pass the fertility test and along with that keep pouring your efforts into witch's port of being the perfect daughter in law though no such thing exists. But keeping on dreaming, stay delusional. Then if you gave birth to a daughter, it is not anyone else but yours. why you did that? the audacity you have man? why would you do that? don't you know we wanna be all wild with other woman but having one at home as a daughter ...Nope that's too scary a thing. Now the man will have to go around looking for flings and other things because your body dared to go through some changes and you too. Look at you..Just look at you.. All that gloom and that smell of diapers and milk and that crying baby,....Ugh i must take a walk outside, smoke a cigarette and think about the life I had before marriage and then joke around with my friends about how one should not get married and all. Often at times I will also complain about my life after marriage and time with friends and whose fault is that...you guessed it right..it is yours. Man! now that I am near my mid 30's I will have a mid life crisis and now I will have one solid affair. and how dare you talk about your rights and all? how feminist of you? Now you must be reading that nonsense? hmm? talking about your rights and all? how can you even think that I will let that happen? How? No! Why? Now go make a cup of tea for me because you do not look tired at all even though you worked all day and when I wake up in the morning , place the breakfast right in front of my face because I can't move my hands around the table. How weird would a man look while walking doing his chores himself as in drinking water, microwaving his own food, choosing his own clothes, polishing his own boats and taking care of his own parents. If he is gonna do all that then what are you here for.. Women( the cup emoji and the sick laugh). Now that you have grown old often at times I think ..you know after a life time of being cynical I am thinking. Finally using my brain that you have been with me through all the ups and downs , the good and the bads , odds and evens and health and sickness. You were there all along with me and I think....hello...you listening ...Oh She is died. The lady died. After years of living a relational identity and not having an identity of her own finally she got HER back ..ALAS that HER is dead. What should we do now? oh come let's have a cup of tea and discuss what mess the politicians are creating.. some terrible creature are they..ate us up. Man!

Caution:

the words used are satire. I believe in the institution of marriage if a man is man enough to consider the woman he is marrying as an individual and not a slave that for somehow reason owes him something. Good marriages are exception and I want them to be common.
