What is the Colour of COVID 19

story
What colour can we use to qualify COVID 19? Is it red, yellow, orange, purple, white or black? Seriously I am really worried because the international communities that have their nationals in Nigeria are evacuating their personnel with speed. Their reason is that they foresee the explosion of Corona Virus in Nigeria and that it is going to be worse than that of Italy, USA and Wuhan. Of course it will be worse because we have slums where a bungalow of 20 rooms houses more than 100 persons and a story building with 30 rooms is home for more than 150 persons. You see why I am deeply worried like other well-meaning Nigerians because these category are the poor and low income citizens who form the majority of the Nigerian citizenry.
This concern stems from the fact that our government have never been sincere with us and our health facilities and sector are in no condition to take care of this type of explosion if and when it happens. Our health sector have never been anything to write about. All annual budgets have been more on recurrent that capital.
So many well-to-do citizens are already donating resources to assist government in fighting this virus. Corruption has become the bane of Nigeria Democracy and our leaders. Even with this unfortunate global pandemic, most of our leaders will still be thinking of their private pockets that are already overflowing with money.
Another concern is that most Nigerians do not believe that there is anything like COVID 19. This is the most concern that is why I am frightened beyond anything. Not believing means they are not taking the preventive measures seriously so if you are in my shoes you will be scared.
For now we have 111 confirmed cases and mostly are the top class political leaders and have been quarantined and being attended to but if the number keeps increasing by the day there will be panic. These political leaders have chauffeurs, cooks and stewards that attend to them and they are the class that reside in that type of houses I described earlier. If any of them gets infected and these persons goes home without knowing, it means he or she will infect not less than 50 persons at a time. That’s when our serious trouble will start.
The military and police personnel posted at state borders have turn their posts to money making venture. They are busy collecting money from cars and passengers who wants to gain entrance into other states.
I am really scared and our government have made plans to distribute relief materials according to our President to some people especially some states that has gone on total lockdown. The rest of the states are on partial shutdown with borders, airports, seaports and interstate movement shutdown. Markets, religious places, bars, cinemas, funerals and weddings have all been put on hold. Three quarter of the populace is yet to grasps the enormity of what we are facing.
I join other Nigerians and the Pope to pray for the whole world and our dear nation Nigeria while we keep sensitizing those around us by phone and social media of the danger ahead.
We need all the support we can get as a people and as a country while we continue to take preventive measures.
