What language do Moldovan people speak and why? Where is Moldova?

Today I received a comment as people feel sad that I added to my profile the so called "Moldavian" language, that according to many (including me) is one and the same language with Romanian.

But so many conflicts come out of it... Some people, foreigners ask - "Why do you say you speak Romanian when you country's name is Moldova?" One and the same answer comes back.... Won't say it here... hope any of you, dear readers can add some comments.

Another thing I heard from some really good interpreters from USA that they certainly know that Moldavian language and Romanian are the same, but others don't and the more languages you add to your profile, the better. Besides many look for such interpreters that speak Moldavian and they don't care and don't even know facts about Moldova. So they really pay well somebody who attached this language into their CV.

Anyway - I worked recently on a documentary called "Ca la Moldova" that everyone will soon be able to watch on internet. This documentary has many opinions on what language Moldova people speak... One man who is 90 years old and a World War II Veteran said that his parents would wake up from their graves if they heard he spoke Romanian and not Moldavian.

P.S. For my recent added friend in here: I really know it is a painful topic, I want other voices to express the opinion, not just comment like "sad" - we all know it is... But thank you!
