Once upon a time, in a land filled with diverse and hardworking women in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, a leader brought voices together to discuss an important idea called "Shift the Power." She visited three groups of women. The first group was young university graduates serving their country. The second group was older women; some couldn't read or write but were wise with life's lessons. The last group was two women who worked tirelessly as farmers in their village.

The leader wanted to hear their thoughts and give them a chance to speak up about their funding needs and dreams. She listened as they shared their challenges. One thing became clear—many of them struggled because they didn't have easy access to the internet or technology. Even those who had mobile phones couldn't afford to stay online for long.

The women spoke from their hearts. They said, "If people really want to help us, they need to give us funds directly, not through middlemen who take most of it." They also said, "We need to understand new ideas in simple ways, in our own languages, so we can truly be part of the change." The leader made sure everyone felt safe and respected as they shared, even helping the shy ones find their voice.

To give back, she gave them raw food packs, courtesy of the World Pulse Shift the Power Pilot project, and created a WhatsApp group for the young ladies to mentor and share opportunities. The women were grateful and hopeful. But they also had a warning:

If we don't shift the power now, if we don't help women stand on their own feet, we will pass down poverty and struggle to the next generation.

This story isn't over. It's a challenge for all of us. Are we ready to truly listen, build trust, and ensure help reaches those who most need it? The time to act is now because every woman's voice matters, and we all rise together when we shift the power.
