What's my story?

So where to begin.... although I feel that I am a FOCUSED individual and know where I want to go and who I am as a woman, I struggle to find MY PLACE here in the WP community. Being extremely fortunate to have had a life with no persecution, mutilation, and with un-ending opportunity, I am tempted to feel that perhaps MY STORY is not as gripping, eye-catching, interesting, etc. as so many others from other countries. Yes, I have STRUGGLES which, in this country, seem very difficult and painful. However, when compared to my SISTERS in countries like Cameroon or Rwanda, I feel like my story is so INSIGNIFICANT. Yes, yes, I realize we should NOT compare pain or struggle, but it is tempting in such a forum as this.

My story includes both PAIN and JOY, struggle and victory. Having two brothers who are mentally RETARDED sets me apart here for sure. The LOSS of a child, which in the US is definitely not the norm, but I realize in other countries is the norm. Chronic and severe PAIN, fatigue, and some un-named ILLNESS have caused me to stop working, and subsequently lose my job. Being overwhelmed with just the day-to-day responsibilities and happenings adds to the physical and mental challenges I face. Yet, again, I am compelled to think of my sisters across the sea who suffer far more than I. I can not imagine how you make it through.

So, what do I have to OFFER? I have skills that I know are needed around the globe. This forum and technology can allow me to reach out to those beyond this country.

I have passion for YOUNG CHILDREN who can not TALK. I can teach mothers how to then teach their non-verbal children to communicate.

I have passion for YOUNG LADIES who are just now finding their WAY in their world and need a MENTOR.

I am a MUSICIAN, and can write, sing, play piano and keyboards and would love to find other musicians here. Music is a uniting and powerful force that can be used to ENCOURAGE, hold up, and GROW relationships.

I have passion for WOMEN who have an IDEA or DREAM or SOLUTION, yet need guidance with FINDING FOCUS and IMPLEMENTING that solution. I can provide GUIDANCE and TEACH goal-setting and follow-through.

I have passion for NATURE. What beauty, power, awe. Although I am not able to now, I am hopeful that soon I will be able to resume hiking and rock-climbing.

I also have NEEDS. I need women who can share the unique experience of chronic physical pain to share how they get through each day and not let the pain consume them.

My heart ACHES to reach BEYOND this closed-eyed country and be in RELATIONSHIP with women for the sake of relationship alone.

I need to be a part of something BIG and WONDERFUL and outside of SELF. THIS-IS-IT!

This entry was longer than I anticipated, and if you have read to the end, thank you. My passions and needs may seem scattered and disconnected, but indeed they are not.

It all comes down to RELATIONSHIPS and COMMUNICATION. So let it begin!
