When able-bodied people brag about the most mundane skills ever 😤

You know what used to grind my gears? People who bragged about the most mundane skills they know how to do. Riding a bike without training wheels, swimming, juggling, doing cartwheels, whistling, singing, dancing, tying shoelaces, etc.

Watching everyone else show off in front of me while I’m struggling to do the same made me feel like a failure. A mundane skill that required both arms and legs made me look like I was a disappointment to society and a huge baby. I felt like a laughing stock.

Then I realized something. My grandma couldn’t do things like many others could, and she was perfectly fine. What she indirectly taught me is that I don’t have to confirm to the most mundane things to prove I’m a capable human being. I’m perfect, just the way I am, and I can do things on my own terms.

I’m not “bad” at it, I just do things differently, MY WAY. Who needs to do something so stupid and pointless to life when you can just do things differently, to YOUR desires?
