WHEN IDEAL MEN PROTECT WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN, WHAT HAPPEN?

It's so obvious that, there will be great peace in the land, when ideal men protect their women and their children in the society. When a father takes up responsibilities to provide for their children especially in all aspect of life, emotionally, psychologically, educationally and financially which is the primary assignment that ideal men ought to be doing daily, including protection from all form of attack like sexaul harassment anywhere.

Fathers’ positive involvement in caregiving is associated with children’s emotional and social well-being and cognitive development (Lamb, 2004; Cabrera and Tamis-Lemonda, 2013).

I think what make a man, real man is not muscle they have, i mean power, it's when all these obligations listed above are seriously and consciously observed by a man. In the course of this social work, my Foundation has touched so many young girls and women with less income, basically in education sector and Gender Based Violence matter.

Recently, I met an orphan lady who was in part 1 in one private university, and she was already planning to quit the course she was in for, I encouraged her to come on World Pulse to come share her story, just to get her engaged first and eventually let her know that our Foundation will sponsor her through her course. I love my work so much, that most time I left my office late in the night, because I'm mobile and there is this faithfull day my car has fault to be rectified, so I was unable to drive it to the office, so I have to go by commercial transportation to office in the morning, while going back home from the office, behold this lady seriously overwhelmed with tears on her face and crying with no sound around 9pm on a road in the Campus, it was so pathetic and frightening that night, because we called a woman or girl crying profusely walking alone in the night like that an evil girl, so as I was getting closer I was scared so much, with thought of either to turn back and get other route, but my instinct kept telling me to move on, until we both met at a point and with boldness I asked my first question, Lady what happened to you that you are crying profusely like this? She answered me, by saying "I have not eating since morning and I have Ulcer" My head was not thinking well anymore, my head swell, my 2nd question is where are you coming from at this hour of the day? she later responded that, she was coming from Church program, I asked her many questions as one led to another, but at the end of our conversation, I first gave her $2 to turn back and go to restaurant to eat before going to her hostel, I followed her, she ate and asked her to come to my office next day, and as I say good night and bye bye, walk very fast to your hostel now, she shouted again, I don't have hostel, I was at this point so emotionally down, I stopped and asked her, where are you now going , she said she sleep at her department everyday. My house is like 4 miles to where we were and I might not get commercial vehicle to carry me again, I don't want to leave her, I don't want to be stranded too. I just told her see me tomorrow you hear!. Not quite 3 minute I left her, I saw my neighbour driving passed and parked beside me to take me home, it was inside that car I knew I don't even have any money on me anymore, what a lesson for me to do more of this kindness to others. I learned kindness pay and have reward. Just to mention a few.

I'm making a clarion call here, especially for men, who are on World pulse to come out and lets us build Men Allyship in Africa and globally, MenCare campaign in our respective nations and call for philanthropist to support this movement, with objectives of promoting peace and protecting our girls and women in their communities, who are facing economic challenge, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and all other predicaments that's capable of frustrating women and girls life, we are all born of a woman, and we can not watch women oppressed, abused, intimidated, we are here to protect our mothers, our wives, our girls and children everywhere, without any tribalism.
