When Passion meets a Dream, an initiative is born.
Becoming the person I know I was meant to be since I was a young girl playing with my sibling around my father's taxi. I knew one day my name would carry some valuable weight and significance. Becoming Nombini the woman I am today dealt me with so many trials and tribulations, there are days where I would cry until my pillow is soaking wet because I was just overwhelmed with the new version of Nombini.
Having something to believe in is very important in life, wether it's in business or personal life. I started the sustain healthy eating habits initiative because I knew how I grew up and how I was a picky eater and didn't like vegetables at all, and unfortunately my mom didn't know how to pivot and make meals that contained vegetables that aren't visible in order to accommodate me. She would tell me fine you don't have to eat them then and that decision led to me being someone who easily gets sick and takes time to recover.
Sustain healthy eating habits is for the forgotten generation of woman, the grandmothers and older aunts in the rural area and townships who spent 90 %of their times with their grandchildren because their mom's have to work in the city. Woman know how to start something from scratch like a planting farm and be able to feed their families. Now what happens when there's a little Nombini in that household who doesn't particularly love vegetables, and her daily nutrients come from vegetables? . We need to be able to nature and guide our elderly with easy accessible ways to know how to pivot and create sustainable nutritional meals using what they have, let's teach them how to dehydrate some vegetables and make vegetables crisps for the kids to snack on instead of buying products with preserves.
Encouraging good health and nutrition should start at an early age, so how do we support our growing young people to prioritize good nutrition without bullying them into eating something they think they don't like which is vegetables? We do that by teaching them , teach them they can create something they like out of something they don't like. If you not happy about your life you change it right? So it's the same with food, let's encourage them and the older generations that just because you don't like how a steamed carrot tastes like doesn't meant you won't like a pickled or dehydrated carrot.
So becoming the woman I am today started with a passion and a dream, passion to continue making a difference in so many communities doing what I love which is cooking delicious nutritional balanced meals. Through this initiative I believe I can make a difference in people's lives, like I did for my mom and the people I've helped so far.
LET ME HELP YOU FALL BACK INLOVE WITH VEGETABLES, THE EASY WAY.
