When Your Voice Finds Its Power

I used to describe myself as “an introvert whose social battery is 50% on a good day.” For years, this felt like a limitation in a world that seemed to reward the loudest voices. But everything changed when I encountered my first group of vulnerable children.
Standing before 200 junior secondary school students in Abuja during a health sensitization talk, I discovered something remarkable: my voice didn’t just find its power—it transformed completely. The same person who once struggled with small talk could suddenly command a room when advocating for children’s health and dignity.
That day, I learned something profound: authentic leadership isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about discovering the spaces where your truest self thrives. My journey from a rejected medical school applicant to a public health advocate and now a Partnership Officer with Greymond Women, Orphans & Charity Foundation has shown me that our perceived weaknesses often become our greatest strengths when aligned with purpose.
To my fellow women changemakers:
Your quiet strength, your empathy, your different way of seeing the world—these aren’t obstacles to overcome. They are superpowers. The world needs listeners as much as it needs speakers, feelers as much as thinkers, bridge builders as much as trailblazers.
So, here’s my reminder to every woman who has ever doubted her voice:
When your work aligns with your heart, your voice will always find its power. 💜
