On Friday day April 19 2024 It was reported that a child killed his Mother's boyfriend in lebialem southwest region of Cameroon...🤦 for the short story the woman is a widow and her son couldn't bear seeing the mom with another man other than thier deceased father... As a direct consequence the child took upon himself to commit murder by killing the Said boyfriend😢 Â
Within the same period we got news of a child who killed the mother after the latter scolded him ( her son) after he had used the 10.000 FRS given to him for the purchase of household food stuff.😢
Still within the same week we got news of a son who killed his father a security guard because the latter ( father) handed over the child birthcertificate to him asking him to leave his house as he couldn't bear the child stubborn nature any longer ....😢
And to crown it all we got news of a child who killed his grandmother and mother within a period of 3 months... For motives we will all know at the end of police investigation...
It should be noted that the 2016 Cameroon penal code punishes murder with life imprisonment. Section 275 read thus
"... Whoever causes another's death shall be punished with imprisonment for life...''
All these stories mentioned above is not only meant for us to play the blame game....rather it's a call for concern and actions as to means we need to implore inorder to have better parenting in guiding our children to be better persons...Â
The truth is no matter how hard a parent heard maybe , none will wish to have a child that will be term a murderer or even wish to see them go to jail for a life imprisonment term...Â
Therefore, as a family what could be the causes of this moral decadence amongst our children and youngster? How can we curb out it out to protect the well- being of these children... Do you think this failure is only as a result of poor parenting ? Or our families and communities have role to play....
