Why do we have to keep fighting twice as hard for anything, simply because of who we are...? simply because of our gender.simply because we are women.

I sat down and begin to make analysis of the happenings around, and I realised that the society tend to favour the opposite sex than we women. I realised that as a woman you have to fight as twice as hard for virtually anything you want to achieve. In some part of the world women are seen as second class citizens, women are seen as those creatures who don't have a say in anything that matters and women are seen as those citizens who don't have a right of their own.
Why do we have to fight twice as hard for a political position? In some places they refer to women who comes out to contest for an elective position as prostitutes, they belittled them and in some instances they even attempt to strip them naked when they go out for political rallies just to shame and ridicule them. Some women have to fight hard to go to school unlike the opposite sex, in many cases women are paid less than Men for an equal job done, sometime they feel a woman is unfit for a certain position in the society simply because of her gender.
For how long do we resort to taking minor responsibilities in the society? For how long do we have to keep off contesting for elective position simply because we are afraid of the society or we are afraid not to be called certain names? Live your dream sisters. Be bold, be fierce and fearless, live your dream. Don't allow them break you, keep breaking that stereotypes, keep putting in your best and let's keep fighting to break that jinx, let's keep fighting to break that long course until our children-children have nothing to fight for. Let's fight to create that world that is better for us and generation yet unborn.
