"Why Is A Girl's Love a Crime?"

They say a girl’s heart is soft, made to love, to nurture. But when that love is her own choice suddenly, that heart becomes a battlefield.
In my part of the world, we still hear stories too many of girls who dared to love. Girls who dreamed of marriage based on understanding, not arrangement. Girls who believed love could be halal, respectful, committed. But instead of blessings, they received bullets. Instead of acceptance, they were silenced forever.
Why?
Why is a girl’s love called rebellion?
Why is her choice treated as shame?
Why is her life less valuable than her family's so called honor?
Her brothers kill her.
Her father signs off.
Her silence is buried and the world moves on.
But I won’t.
I write today for every girl who never got to live her love.
For every girl, who dreamed of marrying not just anyone but someone her heart chose, her faith approved, and her soul accepted.
I write because love is not a crime but killing in the name of honor is.
When will society understand:
That forced marriage is not purity.
That obedience without happiness is not respect.
That love, when pure and intentional, is not dishonor but dignity.
I ask today:
Is it so dangerous to dream of being loved by choice, not force?
Is a girl’s smile with the one she chose so unbearable that it must be erased?
Let us be honest: This isn’t about religion. This is about control.
This is not honor. This is ego disguised as culture.
To the families who kill their daughters:
You do not protect your honor you bury it with her body.
To my sisters around the world:
Your voice matters. Your heart matters. Your life matters.
And I will write for you. I will speak for you. Until one day,
no girl will have to pay with her life for loving with hers.
