Why Should I Stay Behind? Why Can’t My Voice Reach the International Stage?

Why should I stay behind simply because I was born in a financially struggling family?

Why should my dreams be limited because I cannot afford the expenses of travelling to an international conference?

I am a young Pakistani woman with a vision. I want to represent my country, raise my voice for my people, advocate for young people and women, and take the issues and ideas of my community to the world.

I come from Bara, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a place where opportunities for young people—especially girls—can be very limited. Despite these challenges, I have continued to learn, participate, speak up, and work for positive change. I believe that young people are not only the future of Pakistan; we are also the voice that can shape its future today.

I have received opportunities to participate in international platforms, but the biggest barrier standing between me and those opportunities is financial instability. Registration, travel, accommodation, visa, and other expenses are beyond what I can afford.

Does being financially unstable mean I should remain silent?

Does coming from a small and underprivileged community mean my vision deserves less space?

I don’t think so.

I believe that voices should be heard because of their ideas, courage, and vision—not because of their financial status.

I am asking for your support so that I can take my vision from my community to the international stage, represent Pakistan with pride, and bring back knowledge, connections, and opportunities that can benefit other young people.
