At least 10 women have died in the district of Afgooye in the region of the Lower Shabelle of Somalia due to labour complications, Shabelle.net has reported.
Three of them were internally displaced persons running away from heavy clashes between insurgents and Somali government forces in the capital Mogadishu.
The report said the district in the north of Mogadishu lacks enough healthcare centers particularly those specialized in women health problems.
The expectant mothers usually die after experiencing a long period of labour pain.
Sources from the district hospital confirmed that three out of seven died at the hospital after the hospital had run out of tetanus medication.
Since the militants of Al-shabaab banned the humanitarian agents to operate in the area the few healthcare centers were running out of the medicine stock, sparking a sharp outcry of healthcare problems.

If this is the case and civilians are suffering what would be the need for struggling to be the leader (President or PM)? If there are clashes every day between the TFG (Transitional Federal Government) in partner with AMISOM in one side and Alshabab/Hisbul-Islam on the other side where will the society live? Will they ever be under those threats or will there be a future for those who will still be alive?
Sometimes I wonder why all these happen, why can’t they give-up for the sake of their beloved community? If everyone is dead or injured who will they govern, don’t they have a little mercy in their hearts? But then I convince myself maybe God has a better plan for those people, anyway it’s so sad to hear there was casualties’ everyday and I feel pity for those who live under that trauma.
All I can say is prayers for those who suffer to get peace and stability, for those who are dead to be in paradise, for those who are sick or wounded to be healed soon, and for those who are lost to be guided to the straight path. AMEEN
