wishing on a star

Sometimes we just need to unplug and get away, leave this world behind. Forget what is going on and let our hair down. Life is hard, unfair, unpleasant on one hand, the other, life is full of love, beauty, wonder. We are resilient, strong, courageous. I unplugged this weekend and went to one of the thousands of beach front miles my state has. To look out into a massive lake and not be able to see anything for 25 miles made me think. All I heard was the waves with their sweet sweet lullaby. It was a great escape from life and what was happening in the world. It gave me a chance to reflect and grow. How I can be a part of this great community that unites and supports women and men from all around the globe for a single reason:: To improve the quality of life. Sitting on a log watching the moon move across the night sky and the stars coming out to shine, I realize just as I see things differently, people around the world see different stars in the sky. It's the same sky, but it looks different from every place around the world. My views are different than yours, but that doesn't mean yours or mine are any better. But if I can find a constellation in the sky, then I can make a difference by looking at someone else's constellation or ideas as well. If I can wish on a star, I sure hope somewhere someone is also making a wish on a star. We can all wish for the quality of life to improve on a star, maybe we can start to see a change.
