Women at high risk of economic exploitation



The economic fallout of the pandemic represents one of the biggest shock to women globally and in Cameroon in particular. Women are particularly always affected amidst every kind of emergency. With the outbreak of COVID 19,women are most affected and exposed to economic exploitation in particular.



I came in contact with this woman with mobility impairment in my Region, North West of Cameroon, she said the pandemic has pushed them to the wall, she confided that she had no option than to engage in a sexual relation with a pharmacist in exchange for hand sanitizer and face mask in a bid to prevent herself and children from contamination that's because she cannot carry out her routine to economically support herself and family



Her like other women Are being abused by their husbands or male friends because being on quarantine, they are too closed to abusive men
