“Women don’t have the same body structure as men so they perform much worse” Gimme a break

You’d think that feminism would be far ahead of the “women perform worse than men” stage already, but apparently not. These idiots love to use science to justify sexism when they’re simply hiding the fact that they’re insecure around strong women.
”I'm fairly naive about feminism but I'm developing an interest in it (I'm a male). Am I wrong in the belief that even in a non-patriarchal society women would still be significantly worse at throwing than men due to each sex's different body structure?”
Uh, YES!! Just because men and women’s body structures are different doesn’t make women’s performances “worse”. There is no right or wrong way of throwing something. If you don’t like it, deal with it!
”I understand the point the image is making about males being socially conditioned to be more involved in sport than females and therefore more practiced at things like throwing, but surely the difference in abilities is much more than just that?”
No, you’re just playing favorites. You favor male players over female players and it SHOWS.
”Because of hormone differences, men can more easily gain muscle, especially in the upper body. This means men will on average be able to throw harder/farther than women.”
Bullshit! Hormones do not make any fucking difference in throwing, body structure does not make a difference either. It’s skill, and it only that. You say this kind of stuff yet you wonder why there aren’t many women who play sports.
”When people say "you throw like a girl" they are typically referring to the throwing form. Someone who hasn't spent time practicing throwing will usually have poor form”
Stop right there. The phrase “you throw like a girl” is nothing but sexism. And your explanation is justifying sexism. It should not be used to encourage boys (and girls) into getting better because it undermines the skills and capabilities of women and girls.
“If women were treated equally and they spent the same amount of time practicing throwing as men, then I don't think there would be a noticeable difference in throwing form, but the difference in power would still be present.
It's also possible that body structure (wide shoulders and narrow hips vs the opposite) has an effect on throwing, but I don't have the knowledge to comment on that.”
No, there wouldn’t. You’re just upset over the possibility that a girl might beat you.
”After adolescence the muscle thing happens but we are such a white collar desk job society that a woman who works out can absolutely surpass the average male. But with throwing specifically there is another factor.
Mens arms tend to be longer.
The longer the moment arm the more effective force. This is why tools like the atl atl or spearchucker work. They extend the effective length of your arm. I'm the same height as my husband but his arms are about 4 inches longer than mine so he bare handed has the moment arm length I have if I use a tool. If we adjust the handle length on one of these so that we have the same moment arms our effective throwing distances are much closer than they are otherwise.
But a woman with longer arms essentially gets a multiplier to her muscle strength - be it because she is simply very tall or be it because she has proportionately longer arms. With less muscle strength than my husband and a few inches of moment arm advantage I can out-throw him.”
Size and strength does not matter. Why are you using the length of men’s arms and muscles to justify sexism? Seriously, who the fuck cares about muscle mass and arm length?
”Fun fact - Mythbusters actually did an awesome study on the "you throw like a girl" myth!
tl;dr: throwing form is mostly a cultural adaptation. When you make normal (read: untrained in baseball/softball) people throw with their non-dominant hands, people use the exact same throwing style as the other sex with little difference in speed or accuracy!”
