Women Standing Strong

As a mother, women endure pain and suffering in protecting, providing and educating their girls.  Society has labelled the duties and responsibilities of the girl child and deprive them of some basics of life like education.  A woman's place is no longer in the kitchen, and mothers have started stepping up to make this a reality.  In Kumba, Cameroon, Internally Displaced Women have stepped up and are learning different trades to enable them to stabilize themselves in what they now call "their new home".  They stop at nothing to ensure that their girls are educated and be independent women in society, so they hawk local products to raise school fees.  Change is the only certainty, I denounce early marriages, illiteracy, and the stigma placed on the girl child, to change the dynamics of the future of our girls.
