My Amazing staff and I
I read a beautiful piece from Victor Ober's post on Instagram
"I have seen the rebranding that awaits Africa by God and women will champion that cause; they'll tell our stories better."
Those words felt like a warm blanket, comforting yet convicting. Running a business as a woman in a male-dominated field often feels like navigating a cold winter, harsh, isolating, and full of unseen struggles. I've faced doubts, been questioned, and met with unprofessionalism simply because I am a woman. Yet, I've stayed true to my vision, grounded by the weight of touching lives while fighting to keep my business alive.
It's my first attempt at entrepreneurship, and many don't see the sleepless nights, the silent prayers, the moments of doubt. Yet, in the irony of it all, I'm helping children go to school, providing meals for families, and empowering young girls to see their worth.
Coming from a background of dependency, relying on loans, relatives, and side hustles for my education, it's surreal that my first steps into adulthood are about creating jobs and empowering others. When Victor spoke of women leading Africa's rebranding, it echoed within me. I am part of that rebranding. My struggles, my perseverance, my efforts, they're all part of a larger vision of a redefined, empowered Africa.
Every hardship is a step toward rewriting the narrative, one life, one opportunity, one dream at a time. I carry the weight of this responsibility as a gift—a calling. And despite the difficulties, I am grateful. I am rebranding Africa in my own way, beautifully and purposefully.
