WOMEN'S DAY 2024

first woman's day was held on february 28 1909 in new york the 2nd one was in copenhagen denmark attended by over 100 delegates who represented about 17 countries. after that there was no set date until the date was latter agreed to be every 12th of MAY during the commemoration 100th anniversary of international women's day presided by former 44th president of the united states of america who empowered women and girls through exchange programs called IWD. during woman's day which is being celebrated world wide different activities happens at work women are appreciated with e- cards or honoured especially those who have impacted their community . it also a day to call for action to help many mothers , girls , wives who have gone missing during armed conflict the vast majority of people who go missing in connection with conflicts . as we promise to take action to end violence against women the united nations report that over 70 % of women worldwide experience some sort of physical or sexual violence in their daily lives it really reminded me of my good friend that was molested by he own uncle glad she is far away from that monster and safe from his evil act and justice was served he is rotting in jail where he belongs.i have heard so many sad sexual abuse women go through and the sad part is not even men are safe no more .i remember well in 2013 after the violence a gainst women became a global initiative through UNESCO , violence against young girls was one major reasons for them not attending school and subsequently took a step with the help of government around the globe to support women rights by providing a quality education in safe environment this has created a bigger impact in my community most women are enrolled in adult schools something that was never embraced back in the day only boy child used to enjoy such privilege's many girls were viewed as married object not given attention or opportunity to prosper beyond being mothers and giving birth. this years mothers day to me was the best because it happened to be on sunday we came together as women held an event after devotion sunday to work on our well being , we shared challenges facing our lives our marriages , we played games that help check our mental stress and mental wellbeing we together motivated each other as a sister's keeper , we also brought the topic of climate change now that we can no longer deny we shared how climate change has affected food productions , how it has brought about severe floodings , sinkholes mudslides that kill innocent people while sleeping todate some were never found. so we dedicated our mothers day in planting trees day and giving back to victim of floods we supplied food , clothings , beddings visited the survivors with encouraging words ,we help cuddle mothers and babies that needed love and hope , most of the victims had a big smile from our act of kindness .. to me mothers day is not only for mothers but to single dads that are playing the role of a mother, to single mothers who decided to walk out of abusive marriages that almost cost them their life's , their courage is why i share them it take courage to walk out of abusive marriage there are lots of women that have died in those kind of marriages for the sake of them fearing about what people will think about them , thay have hope that their husbands will change but that ends up tragic, i also share women that cant have kids may be because of medical conditions or they are suffering from fertility sickness they really need care , courage ,comfort thats why i remember them , women that lost their lives while bringing another life to life, those women that have adapted children to play arole of a loving mother , those who are first time mothers and pregnant,those who are playing the role of surrogacy helping other women to have children this year i dedicate it to my step mother who played the role of bringing me up to be the woman i'm today , he motivated me to be a leader and the voice of voiceless woman and young girls , i know how many people this days take their mothers for granted some don't even let their own mothers see their grand kids , they rather send their aged mothers to beached for than welcome them to their home because they see their aged mothers as a big stress and burden , many people took to social media to share their mothers that they don't talk to i know quite a number of people that dont see their mothers eye to eye but yesterday , they remembered then and that was it . one day an old sweet lady brought her phone for repair because she thought her kids wont get in contact with her , because the phone was not working the person fixing the phone told that lady that the phone was very ok its her grown kids that dont want nothing to do with her , that old woman really cried that day ,so mothers day do bring people together but its always short lived after that sweet day most people go back to no contact phase until the old folks are dead thats when they go to social media to say how their mother was their hero i know quite a lot of people like that . we live every day we die once , the beauty of a mother is only known when she is no more thats when you start to i wish i knew i gave her this , take her places , now that you have been given an opportunity to share her with the world
