A call to actions
Today, I celebrate not just another year of life, but a day that holds deep meaning for me, ''World Mental Health Day''.
This year, YOUR AID for HEALTH (YAH) joined the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Technical Working Group, a milestone that reflects our growing commitment to healing, resilience, and emotional well-being in humanitarian settings.
Mental health is not a luxury but it’s a necessity. In the communities we serve, where trauma and displacement are daily realities, our work must go beyond physical aid. It must touch hearts, restore dignity, and offer hope.
Having my birthday fall on this day feels like a divine reminder of the path I’ve chosen to lead with empathy, to advocate for healing, and to build safe spaces where women can thrive emotionally and mentally.
“You are not alone. Your story matters. Healing is possible.”
To my team, our partners, and everyone walking this journey with us, thank you. Let’s continue to be the light for others, and for ourselves.
Call to Action:
Today, I invite you to do one thing for your mental health pause, reflect, reach out, or simply breathe. And if you feel moved, share your own story. Let’s break the silence and build a culture of care together.
