WORLD TEACHERS DAY (5)TH OCTOBER 2024

The day falls on a Saturday this year unfortunately but!! parents with children who love their best teachers be sure to send a 'thank you message on a Monday to them because they deserves it !! the world teachers day was first celebrated back in 1953 through the leadership and persistence of Eleanor Roosevelt through her persuasion of the 18 th congress to proclaim it. the day also severs as a reminder of importance of quality education and the role of teaching activities while also acknowledging the invaluable contribution of teachers and the big role they play in nurturing the generation's to come .personally I experience this because both my parents were teachers they would go out of their way to help me with my homework , they would play with me and show me how to do things in fact my dad was really good with kids every weekend kids would come to my home so my dad would offer teaching session he was good in mathematics and science .kids really enjoyed my dads teaching techniques he was naturally gifted . I remember my parents being voted the best teachers back in the days they would come home with gold plated trophy's, certificate that they would hung on the walls , gifts from their student's and cash from people they mentored and changed their lives.. so today being world teachers day it reminds me of them because teaching to them was a calling and as an adult living with a neighbor who is a teacher I decided to create a hand made gift for her and backed some cup cake for her just to appreciate her for the good work she is doing to those little kids in school and the community .rang her door bell and the joy that was on her face made my day it reminded me of the big smile my mother used to have while dealing with kids and receiving her gift from people who appreciated her teaching career. also I was invited to a virtual event that was advocating for education as a guest speaker I had an opportunity to meet investors who were willing to build a community library this has been my dream for many years I'm so happy that its happening this world teachers day because giving back to my community is something i will never get tired of doing the library is going to help thousands of kids who cannot afford library fee and they have book passion .the event was very successful with everyone willing to join hands to see things moving that really made my day because my community is going to be a community of reading generation . my last event on this day was to visit a school that help take care of special need children I really wanted to appreciate the caregivers, the matrons , the teachers that really take time to help this kids get education. i had an opportunity to talk to the teacher in charge one one one and from the looking on her face and the tone of her voice she really looked tired and stressed and needed a hug and help but tried to hide it with a smile and I could tell it .she shared so much to my team and I they really need so many tools that they were running law on. again the school need modern wheelchairs to help the special need kids move from one place to the next with easy . we did not promise them heaven but we tried our best from the funds we have been getting from donations, well-wishers we managed to cover some bills they really need and got tools and equipment's they desperately needed by only doing that the teacher in charge had the biggest smile from the heart. there is this feeling you have when you make a difference on some once life . it cannot be explained but it can only be felt thats what we left in that school .teachers should be respected and celebrated ,they should be awarded when they deserves it . imagine your own toddler making your life living hell at home so you send them to pre - schooling its the teacher to handle all the tantrums and nurture him or her to be a good student in future I was having a conversation with a lady who handle pre -school- goes she tell me she do feel good when some suborn student don't come to school!! that really added my respect to teachers because they are human too and they have feelings .we know kids come from different backgrounds and some are growing up in very toxic environment so they try to bully teachers or even students.( story for another day...)' mine is to thank all the teachers that have been on my path , those that have helped me excel in my future, those who have mentor and encourage me to be the woman I'm today ,those who showed me the right path to achieving my goals I sit and look back and I realize that not all teachers wanted the best for me one teacher who was teaching music really beat me up for not coming to school with an instrument I still have a scar and he made me hate music I always pray for the day I will meet that teacher , he will have to apologize to me for putting me through trauma that was unnecessary some teachers made the lives of students a living hell . I know everyone has a story to tell about that one teacher that almost brought depression or suicide in his or her even thought we just don't talk about it. its life and we have the good side of a teacher , the bad side and the worst side like dwelling on the good side that brought change to students will mention their names loud to people
