You don't have to be what they want you to be

Are you not just sick and tired of being told what to do already? Are you not just sick and tired of pretending you don't know what it is that you really want? or what you are really here to do and be?

 

Are you not just sick and tired of being a puppet, and doing what others expect of you just because they asked (or maybe even demanded)?

 

These are the harsh questions that I asked myself today.

 

I mean, have I learned nothing? I am always going to slip down  the damn rabbit hole of DOING what others want.

 

Being the 'thing' that is needed or useful for any particular situation.  When will I listen to the soul that is screaming out to me, begging to be heard. When will I honour myself?

 

And why we are it, what does that even look like?

 

When will I finally honour my spark?

 

Do only what makes me feel good, whole and complete?

 

When will I finally give myself permission to BE.

 

I KNOW what my purpose is, and ​what I am meant for, and so do you.

 

But being you (us) is terrifying right?

 

As a teen  I was the chameleon, I changed how I dressed, what I listened to, my behaviours according to the people I was with. I wanted, nay, needed to fit in. I had felt like shit all my damn life and this was a coping strategy. And like most good (effective) coping strategies they follow us into adulthood - mostly unquestioned. But when we scratch beneath the surface we can see how those sneaky 'strategies' actually show up again and again and again. 

 

It is hard to BE YOU and only be you. It is hard (well it is hard for me) to stick to what I am sometimes, to not bend and sway and give others what they need. Because that is what the world tells us right, the person paying you gets to decide how it rolls.

 

But honey, we are not some type of prostitute that performs and dances just the way you like it.

 

Fuck that shit.

 

The only music I dance to is my soul.

 

My soul knows what it wants.

 

It wants to empower women, it doesn't want to do teach fucking strategy, it does not want to coach women to DO THINGS in there business step by step, it wants to FREE those women, it wants to reach into those women and drag the real them out.

 

It wants to SET women FREE.

 

It wants to RAISE WOMEN UP so that they may stand tall in their own worth.

 

It wants to bring the world back to equality.

 

It wants to be FREE itself to be and do in the way that feels good to it.

 

It does not want to be told what to do, to do things in a way that makes someone else feel SAFE. Cause honestly, fuck safe, that is where mediocracy lives.

 

My soul is here to empower your soul to soar.

 

I am 1000% committed to doing that.

 

And I am 1000% committed to my own soul, to my own flow, to doing ONLY what feels good and natural and flow to me.

 

Because you see, you can only bring 'the fire' the goods, the empowering messages when you are waist-deep in soul.

 

And serving others in a way that does match what you see, feel, and know in your soul is a sure-fire way to deliver mediocre results!

 

So today, stand up, be you.

 

Be true to YOUR soul.

 

And say "eff this shiz" and live happily ever after.

 

You don't HAVE to do anything a certain way, you CAN and in fact SHOULD do things your way. Who cares if that way is not the usual way. God damn if we all went around only ever doing what was already accepted and known then nothing cool would ever be invented!

 

Yes, you are different.

 

And you have full permission to just be you.

 

Lord knows life is too short to be running around being someone else's version of you.

 

The REAL fire version of you IS what the world needs.
