When I think about the hang out we had, one word comes to mind: transformation.
We gathered with our Cohort 2 ladies — young mothers and girls who joined the Empower Dada Initiative, It wasn’t just another check-in. It felt like a homecoming. A celebration. A space of deep connection.
We sat in a circle, shared stories, and reflected on our journeys. There were smiles and countless moments of laughter. The girls talked about their growth, the challenges they faced, and how far they’ve come. Many had joined the program with little to no skills, but they’re now confident, hopeful, and dreaming again.
Some girls, sadly, dropped out along the way. We tried everything to keep them — follow-ups, support, check-ins. But life sometimes gets in the way. And still, we didn’t stop. We carried on, believing in the power of one more girl empowered, one more story transformed.
Together, we also brainstormed for the future: How can we make the next cohort even better? What lessons can we carry forward
Looking around the room, I realized that this — this community, this connection, this commitment — is the very heart of change. It’s where healing happens. Where dreams are rebor
To every girl who stayed, to every girl who tried, and to every girl who will come — this is for you. Your resilience fuels this movement.
And to my fellow sisters in advocacy and empowerment: never underestimate what can happen when women come together to lift each other up.
