Collaboration

I am truly humbled and grateful to share the progress of our gender-based violence initiative this month. Together, we have achieved three major milestones that show the power of community, compassion, and collective voice:
1. We reached 100+ genuine followers.
2. We collected our very first survivor’s story: a brave woman who trusted us with her voice. (More about her below, we will publish her full story soon. Please be ready to flood her with encouragement and love.)
3. Our page reached 497.6K people : almost half a million hearts have seen our message. This is a huge milestone for us, proof that our words are reaching where they’re needed.
These milestones remind us that we are growing, we are being heard, and people find our work valuable, helpful, and empowering. But this is only possible because of you, your support, your shares, your encouraging words.
About Her Story
She was born in the UAE to an Indian family, full of dreams for her career. But her mother, driven by deep insecurities and societal pressure, stopped her from pursuing them. Eventually, she was forced into marriage, a union that brought not love, but pain.
What followed was heartbreaking:
- Domestic violence became part of her daily life.
- In-laws who never accepted her, making excuses to belittle her.
- A husband who turned violent, leaving her to bear both physical and emotional scars
Her courage in speaking out is a powerful act of resistance against the silence that often surrounds such abuse.
How You Can Help Us
We will be publishing her full story this week. I humbly ask you to:
- Follow and connect with our page. @voiceagainst.gbv
- Share her story with your friends.
- Leave kind, uplifting words for her.
And if you know anyone who could help us grow in our mission, whether it’s an NGO, a person who can support survivors, or someone looking for help, please connect us. We also welcome your suggestions, ideas, and guidance.
Because every comment of encouragement, every share, every like, is a reminder to survivors that they are not alone, they are believed, and they matter.
A Special Thanks to My Team
I am deeply grateful to those who are standing beside me in this initiative, my amazing team of five members. Each one is putting in their time, effort, and heart into making this mission stronger every day. I’m especially thankful to have my fellow World Pulse friend Muniba as part of this journey. Together, we are proof that when hands and hearts join, change becomes possible.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for walking with us. Together, we are building a world where survivors are heard, believed, and empowered.
